Belgian SAP partner TheValueChain is extending its ERP activities into Switzerland, opening an office in Geneva. To develop the business, TheValueChain brought in Guy Van Wilder. Van Wilder worked for SAP for 13 years, holding various positions, including Sales Director for Business Analytics. In the last three years, as Director General Business, he was responsible for the SAP partner network in Belgium and Luxembourg. In Switzerland, TheValueChain is targeting manufacturing companies, life-science companies and public authorities, with a focus on ERP implementation based on best practice, process efficiency improvement and application lifecycle management.
In three years, TheValueChain has grown in Belgium to a company with 70 employees with an average of over 10 years’ experience in SAP. TheValueChain expects to close 2014 with an annual turnover of 8 million euro. Since the end of 2013, the company has also been active in Luxembourg via V-Chain, a joint venture with SAP Business One Partner Vigor.
‘TheValueChain often follows its customers abroad,’ Managing Partner Ivan Leysen says. ‘Because of the growing customer base in Switzerland, there was a strong impetus to open an office there. The plans gained momentum when Swiss BI and CRM specialist Cross Systems recently decided to end its ERP activities. TheValueChain and Cross combined their competencies to offer a competitive all-round service to the Swiss market. Through this collaboration, Cross also ensures continuity for its ERP customers.’
Guy Van Wilder began his career as an account manager at Ricoh and Oracle. He got to know TheValueChain through various sales management and manager roles at SAP. ‘The offerings around application lifecycle management and process efficiency improvement will be the spearheads of the market approach in Switzerland in phase one,’ Van Wilder says. ‘TheValueChain has a strong service package around application lifecycle management with strategic advice, operational support, help desk services and bespoke functionality development. For process optimisation, TheValueChain offers ready-made solutions based on best practice. This is good for the implementation time and cost, which are kept perfectly under control. In the long term, TheValueChain aims to be the partner of choice in its areas of expertise in Switzerland.’
